Creative Designer . Yogini . Herbalist . Usui Reiki Healer .
If we haven’t met yet, hi! I’m Nicolina. I was born in South Florida and raised in the charming, coastal city of Charleston, South Carolina for most of my adolescence. I now call the enchanting Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina my home.
Since I was a little girl I’ve been fascinated with the mystic, the esoteric and the mysteries of life. Somewhere along the way I discovered I had a natural gift for technology and studied graphic design in college. I realized my multi-passionate soul thirsted for something deeper, this led me to studies in the world of health and wellness. Yoga found it’s way into my life in my mid-20s and this is when I began to recognize the true power of healing. It changed my body, mind, and spirit from the inside out and parts of myself I never knew existed began to emerge from deep-seated wounds. I became a yoga teacher in 2014 and I set out on writing a new chapter of my life.
After my training I sought out locations where I could develop my teaching skills and embrace a new way of life, this eventually led me to The Appalachian Mountains where I worked with some of the most renowned retreat centers on the East Coast. My skills landed me opportunities in web, graphics and digital marketing within these organizations while allowing me to continue honing my teaching skills and my yogic studies.
Yoga has since opened doors to amazing life experiences and has allowed me to cultivate friendships and collaborative connections across the globe. Bridging ideas and imagination with like minded visionaries has become my work in life. It has shown me the power of community. It has shown me what can happen when we work together to lift each other up instead of tearing each other down. It has shown me how small kindnesses, sharing stories, experiences and skills with each other can change lives, inspire and breathe to life the creative spark in others.
My path has been dedicated to the healing arts, wellness, evolving my creative expression, and has guided me to studying and practicing western herbalism, Chinese herbal medicine and becoming an Usui Reiki Healer. I am currently furthering my education in holistic herbalism at a local herb school here in Appalachia.
The concept of Alchemista Creative comes from a place of authentically supporting and collaborating with visionaries and forward thinking, diverse populations in a unique way. Creativity, wellness and my self-taught love for technology and the web inspired this studio to empower others looking to make a difference in the world.
Alchemista Creative serves as a container to house my digital craft. Feel free to reach out to chat over tea about collaborating or sit back and read about my travels and musings in my blog!
What is an Alchemista anyway?
al·che·my /ˈalkəmē/ – a seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination.
I believe in the magic of working with and creating with one’s own hands- the magic of craft. Hands have been a key piece of symbolism in my life. For me they represent alchemy, the transformation, the magic, that the creative soul can manifest into the inner & outer worlds. An Alchemista is the embodiment of this idea.
